It’s been known about  the nature of the relationship Pakistan has with China. The two nations have always maintained a mutual friendship and understanding over all these years. Now it has been strengthened as both the nations have decided to make it strong by extending cooperation and promoting the Global Development Initiative (GDI) thus focussing on important issues such as poverty reduction, medications improvement,  educational and infrastructure improvement along with innovation in the agro industry, and other key sectors.

According to the statement, the landmark Memorandum of Understanding had been assigned during the second Meeting of the Top Brass of the Forum on Global Action for Shared Development, organised by the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA) in Beijing.

The President of Pakistan, Asif Ali Zardari spoke about bringing collaborative actions from all Eastern Nations to ensure sustainable development and prosperity through the GDI developed and started by China.

He said that the initiative (GDI) had a great potential to significantly shape the future of the globe by promoting all round development. He urged all the developing nations in the east to play leading roles in the global development process.

Representatives of foreign countries, international organisations, foreign companies and non/ governmental organisations attended the event held in the Chinese capital, Beijing.

In his statement, President Zardari underscored the importance of viewing global challenges such as progress, development, and health, from an Eastern perspective.

He pointed out that most of the global population lived in the Eastern hemisphere, particularly in countries like China, Pakistan, and other neighbouring countries like India, and Bangladesh.

The President stated that the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and Islamabad’s top ministry officials are eager to see President Xi Jinping and the People’s Republic of China spearheading the Global Development Initiative, leading the East and the entire world into the new millennium.

It is worth stating that through the Global Development Initiative (GDI), China aims to help accelerate the implementation of the United Nations 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda and solve the dilemma of global development.

The Chinese administration is collaborating with global partners to speed up the implementation of GDI by enlarging its Friend Circle, mobilising resources, and building capacities for shared prosperity.

Let us see where this MoU leads in the near future and how much development takes place and issues are resolved. Pak faces huge economic turbulence as of now due to a rise in inflation and its poverty and health infrastructure needs to be tended to at an urgent basis.
