Dar warns Afghan Taliban
Dar warns Afghan Taliban of serious consequences if terrorist groups continue to operate from Afghan territory. Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Ishaq Dar, said earlier counter-terrorism promises remain unfulfilled and that weapons and support reaching militants must stop immediately.
Dar Warns Afghan Taliban Over Terror Commitments
Pakistan has consistently stressed that Afghan soil must not be used to launch attacks against its citizens or institutions. Officials in Islamabad point to groups such as the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), which are said to maintain safe havens and training grounds across the border.
Pakistan Prefers Dialogue Backed By Verifiable Action
Pakistan has long favoured dialogue and diplomacy as the preferred route to peace with Kabul. Dar’s earlier visits to the Afghan capital reflect that commitment, and Islamabad has kept diplomatic channels open despite mounting security pressure.
At the same time, Pakistan expects concrete and verifiable steps against cross-border terrorism, and words alone are no longer considered enough, and meaningful progress is seen as depending on visible action on the ground.
Regional Stability Depends On Afghan Accountability
Peace in South Asia is widely seen as tied to the stability of both Pakistan and Afghanistan, and Pakistan has carried heavy human and economic costs from decades of militancy, yet it continues to act as a responsible neighbour committed to regional cooperation.
A genuine crackdown on militant sanctuaries would benefit Afghan citizens as much as Pakistani ones. It would open the way to trade, connectivity and long-term prosperity, and Pakistan’s position leaves the door open to a constructive relationship, provided Kabul honours its obligations.
