uzbekistan airways starts tashkent islamabad flights
Uzbekistan Airways will launch direct flights from Tashkent to Islamabad
This service will start on June 14, 2025, and it will fly every Saturday between Tashkent and Islamabad. This new service aims to promote the friendship and cooperation between Uzbekistan and Pakistan.
Currently, Uzbekistan Airways operates twice a week in Lahore, and adding Islamabad will enhance air connectivity between both countries and allow businesspeople, tourists, students, and pilgrims to travel between the two countries.
This connection is part of a larger plan for the region called the Central and South Asia Connectivity Initiative involving increased trade, transport, and energy cooperation, as well as cultural connections and exchanges across Central and South Asia.
The route is expected to promote opportunities for many sectors including textiles, agriculture, pharmaceuticals, tourism, and also logistics. The route will also help both countries to connect with larger regional markets, Uzbekistan with Central Asia and Pakistan with the Indian Ocean and Gulf regions.
Tourism will also grow, as Pakistani passengers will be able to visit Uzbekistan’s well-known Silk Road cities of Samarkand and Bukhara. Also, Uzbek tourists will have easier access to nature and the history of Pakistan.
Overall, the Tashkent to Islamabad flights will create increased economic connections, and cultural linkages, and help build peace and development in the region between two like-minded countries.
