pakistan’s top climbers leave for everest
Pakistani Mountaineering Expeditions Go for Everest and Kanchenjunga
This spring, four of Pakistan’s best climbing talents will attempt some of the world’s loftiest peaks in Nepal. Leading the charge on this attempt is Sajid Ali Sadpara: planning to climb Dhaulagiri (8,167 m) without oxygen or high-altitude porters. This will be the ninth 8,000 m+ peak from Alpine style for him.
Naila Kiani, the most accomplished female mountaineer of Pakistan, is on her way to Kanchenjunga (8,586 m), having already summited 11 of the 14 tallest mountains in the world national record for any woman of Pakistan.
Joining her is Sirbaz Khan, who has just returned from a successful climb of Annapurna (8,091 m) sans oxygen, while Kanchenjunga completes his pursuit to climb all 14 eight-thousanders-a never-done-before feat from Pakistan.
Wajidullah Nagri has reached Everest Base Camp, getting ready for a summit attempt to escape the color of bygone glories of scaling K2 and Nanga Parbat and put the feat of scaling the world’s highest in his own.
Together, these climbers manifest Pakistan’s growing muscle in the world exhibition of mountaineering.
