For his remarkable achievement numerous public and private organisations and individuals promised Arshad Nadeem monetary rewards for winning Pakistan’s first-ever Olympic gold medal in an individual sport. But a lot of these rewards are still unfulfilled .

Although he received monetary prizes from the federal and provincial governments. Other private organisations also have announced more awards for the national hero. Nadeem recently disclosed in an interview that only the government prizes had been paid out, with the private rewards still pending.

Arshad Nadeem also responded to the accusations that were going around regarding his financial situation saying that he is living in poverty. He Stated that these accusations are untrue. He explained that although he is grateful for the country’s assistance that he is not poor. He underlined that this misinterpretation hides the true hardships and triumphs of athletes who work tirelessly to honour their nation.

It is important to note that the Pakistani athlete who participated in the 2024 Olympics in Paris amazed everyone by throwing a javelin that became the sixth-longest in the world, topping 90 meters. He received Tamgha-e-Imtiaz, the highest civilian award in the country, for this accomplishment and his homecoming was welcomed with widespread celebrations throughout the entire Pakistan. He received several awards after his accomplishment mainly from the head of the government, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. 

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif committed an initial Rs 1 billion to the Pakistan Sports Endowment Fund in honor of his accomplishment. The recently created High-Performance Academy will give young athletes access to first class facilities and coaching in order to prepare them for the 2028 Olympics. The goal of the endowment fund is to provide athletes with financial support during their professional and retirement years.
