Last month, citing the rise in the number of Covid positive cases in the province, Kamal had expressed concern as people and various institutions had shown no adherence to the standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Advising all the respective institutions including the secretaries, commissioned and deputy commissioners, Kamal had directed them to ensure that the implementation of SOPs was done in letter and spirit. He had asked the respective bureaucrats to ensure that people and public places were following the SOPs which were essential in saving the lives of the people in the province.
Kamal had said that precautionary SOPs should be implemented till complete eradication of Covid-19 from Balochistan and use of masks and sanitisers in offices, shopping malls and public places should be ensured and directed the authorities concerned to take steps for creating awareness among the masses about the virus.
Earlier, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Health Minister Taimur Saleem Jhagra also tested positive for Covid-19.
“I have tested positive for Covid, and am isolating at home. I feel fine and healthy, albeit with a slight cough,” he said on September 29. “I will continue to work from home, health permitting, Insha’Allah, and hope to be back as soon as possible. If you have come in contact with me please test yourself.”
Political leaders who have so far tested positive for the virus include names like Asad Qaiser, Imran Ismail, Saeed Ghani and Sheikh Rashid, Shehbaz Sharif and Shah Mahmood Qureshi. All of these individuals have recovered successfully.
