According to Tamir and Hautat Sudair Observatories the crescent moon was sighted in United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia on Thursday evening and both the nations are celebrating Eid ul Fitr today.

The committee of experts made the announcement across the country through local media. In many other Muslim countries, Friday is the first day of Eid ul Fitr and nation there marked 29 days of Ramadan.
The 3rd day of Shawwal will be marked on Sunday and all public as well as private sector employees will resume their work on Monday.

The Central Ruet e Hilal committee has also annoinced that Shawwal moon was not sighted on Thursday and Eid ul Fitr will be celebrated in country on Saturday, April 2022. Local sighters will scan the horizon after sunset on Friday.

The process of moon sighting and fasting is an important part of Islamic faith and Muslim practise this all around the world. The sighting of new moon is marked as completion of one lunar month and begining of another as time for celebrations and reflection.
