235 new schemes worth Rs 94,564 million have been launched for Rawalpindi division, Rawalpindi Division Commissioner Liaqat Ali Chatha announced the schemes under the Annual Development Programme 2022-23. He disclosed the facts of new schemes in the meeting of Annual Development Programme.
The Commissioner of Rawalpindi Division said that the projects are a key factor to raise the living standards of people of Rawalpindi. Once the projects are completed it would definitely make the city better in many factors.

He added that out of total budget, 71 % of the funds are released out for allocations. Our main preference are the educational institutes and buildings. All the possible actions are our motive to make the educational quality and institutes better and trust worthy for citizens.
The measures to provide all the missing facilities in educational institutes should be taken without any negligence to improve the educational quality and standards, he added. Following the policy guidelines according to the law and timely completion are the foremost goals of the project.
He said that, “Timely completion is essential to make projects effective as delays cause hardship rather than convenience”. The development team is making sure the quality of materials and delivery of products are on time and without inconvenience.
Details of schemes
The Annual Development Programme include 120 schemes for Attock district, 66 for Jhelum, 52 for Murree, and 303 for Rawalpindi among which 123 are new and 180 are ongoing. The projects includes road projects, public buildings, healthcare and medical facilities, irrigation schemes, community development, school education and higher education.

Previous year was not so successful in terms of development projects for Rawalpindi but the management is trying to make 2023 a fruitful year for people of Rawalpindi. Federal and Provincial government also delayed a lot of necessary projects in the city including sanitary, roadmaps and infrastructure field.
