Shehbaz Sharif Gathered His Partners On Monday
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif gathered his partners on Monday in an effort to maintain their unity on crucial issues for stabilising the ailing economy, as there have apparently been some breaches in the ruling coalition. He also expressed hope for “better days to come.”
At a dinner he gave at the Prime Minister’s House for the heads of all the coalition parties, the prime minister promised that they will work together to reverse the nation’s historic economic collapse and political unrest.
Parties Succeeded In Toppling The PTI Administration
When the parties, who were then in the opposition, succeeded in toppling the previous Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) administration through a no-confidence motion in the National Assembly, the coalition government was established on April 10.

Leaders Of The Coalition Parties In The NA Criticised The Government
It’s interesting to note that on Monday, certain leaders of the coalition parties in the National Assembly criticised the government’s actions and complained that they weren’t being considered while crucial decisions were being made.
On the one side, PM Sharif promised “happy days” to the populace, but on the other, he implied that the masses suffering from inflation would not get any instant respite. He said that due to the government’s inability to import liquefied natural gas (LNG) since European nations had already made LNG cargo purchases as a result of the ongoing oil crisis for power production, load shedding will worsen in July.
Coalition Administration Was Now Entering Into A New Deal
He added that the coalition administration was now entering into a new deal with the International Monetary Fund, asserting that the government had saved the nation from bankruptcy that it had inherited from the previous PTI regime (IMF).
The IMF has now imposed strict requirements on us because the PTI administration broke the contract it signed with them, he continued.
According to the prime minister, in order to prevent bankruptcies, the government levied high taxes on the net income of affluent people. “In order to prevent its influence from being pushed downward, we levied direct taxes on the net income of the wealthy. We anticipate making an additional Rs200 billion per year in this way,” he said.
