The National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) has announced that over 70 million Covid-19 jabs have been administered across the country so far.
On Tuesday, 890,980 more people were inoculated against the Virus. The NCOC announced that Pakistan had crossed the 70-million mark in Covid-19 vaccination.
In the past 24 hours, 73 people lost their lives to the virus, whereas 2714 new cases were discovered.
Moreover, on Wednesday, the United States sent a shipment of 3.5 million COVID-19 Pfizer vaccines to Pakistan – revealed by the US Embassy in Islamabad.
“With this shipment, the total number of COVID-19 vaccine doses given to Pakistan by the United States has reached 15.7 million,” the US Embassy in Islamabad said on Twitter.
It has also been decided by the Pakistani government that the age of those eligible to get a COVID-19 vaccine has been further lowered to 15 years.

The NCOC said Saturday that people of the age of 15 and above are now eligible for the jab.
“The Pfizer vaccine will be given to children between the ages of 15 and 18 – for free,” the NCOC said.
However, a registration certificate is mandatory for children up to the age of 18 to be vaccinated. As per the NCOC, the Pfizer vaccine is to be available at all central vaccination points.
Earlier, the federal government had revealed its plan to initiate COVID vaccination for people under the age of 18 in Pakistan.
The NCOC said that mobile vaccination teams would undertake visits to schools and colleges.
Meanwhile, the NCOC has also said that people – whose second COVID-19 dose has become due – can go to any vaccination centre to get the jab throughout the week.
It was clarified that they should not wait for the message.
Sunday has been particularly fixed for those needing their second dose.
