Mere Humsafar Writer Saira Raza Dead of Heart Attack at 50

Saira Raza, a well-known novelist, poet, and television scriptwriter from Pakistan, passed away from cardiac arrest on June 2, 2025, at the age of 50. She was born on January 1, 1975, in Karachi, and had talent and skill for creating stories that impacted lives, and was a successful writer of Urdu literature as well as television.

Raza is best known for her colossal hit drama called Mere Humsafar, which aired from December 2021 until September 2022 and starred Hania Aamir and Farhan Saeed. The drama became a massive success and is watched widely across Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Nepal, and UAE. The drama has also been nominated for a total of seven awards in the 22nd Lux Style Awards, with it only winning Best TV Original Soundtrack.

Along with Mere Humsafar, Raza had many successful dramas under her belt, including Dil Mom Ka Diya, Mohabbat Dagh Ki Soorat, and Inteqam. Raza had published her novels; Khali Aasman, Jab Woh Mile, and Ahh, all of which were acclaimed for their subject matter on love, emotion, and social issues.

Raza’s colleagues and fans alike expressed their sorrow following her sudden death. Similar to many, actress Hania Aamir paid tribute thanking Raza for the beautiful story behind Mere Humsafar, and for giving comfort to her character, Hala. It’s a huge loss for Pakistan, both the literary and entertainment community with the loss of Saira Raza. She was able to write important stories and develop important literary works which are important in this community.
