UAE's Most Advanced Earth Observation Satellite MBZ-SAT Ready for SpaceX Launch

The Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Centre (MBRSC) has said that the self-developed highest sophistication Earth observation satellite MBZ-SAT will be launched tonight on the SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket. The launch under the SpaceX Transporter-12 Rideshare mission will also have HCT-SAT 1 Cubesat created with the collaboration of Higher Colleges of Technology scholars. Today’s launching of this dual satellite is an important development in the space journey of the UAE.

The launch window opens at 10:49 PM UAE time and lasts 27 min, The rocket is launched from Space Launch Complex 4E at Vandenberg Space Force Base in California. MBRSC has arranged for a live broadcast of the historic event, beginning at 9:At 30 PM UAE time, and is officially available at live.mbrsc.ae. The space center has made public engagement in this historic event possible through social media using the hashtag – #MBZSAT.

The MBZ-SAT was designed and developed to be the most sophisticated Earth observation satellite in the UAE and, in effect, the entire MENA region.
