Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, organized a campaign at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) under the theme “UAE stands with Lebanon,” to mobilize aid for Lebanon. The campaign collected 1,100 tonnes of food, medical supplies and shelter equipment for Lebanon within two weeks. 2602 people from different fields came forward to contribution to the aid collection drive. It underlines the UAE’s commitment to the cause of humanitarian solidarity and efficient cooperation to combat humanitarian challenges. According to the Wam, under the supervision of the UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, 13 relief planes containing 560 tonnes of aid have been airlifted to Lebanon to help promptly. However, humanitarian help has been started from the side of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and the UAE continues to help those in need.
Extended Public Awareness at ADNEC
The ‘UAE stands with Lebanon’ campaign reached another major achievement when Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Ruler’s Representative in the Al Dhafra Region and the Chairman of the Emirates Red Crescent Authority led the comprehensive aid drive at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC). The campaign managed to collect 1,100 tonnes of important humanitarian aid food, medicine, and equipment for shelter within two weeks in Lebanon.
It was in the communities where the initiative received unprecedented attention with 2,287 volunteers from different sectors. Other guests of the event included the children of Sheikh Hamdan in addition to other officials such as Reem Al Hashimy, the Minister of State for International Cooperation and Omar Al Olama the Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy and Remote Work Applications.
Coordinated Relief Efforts Under Presidential Directive
In response to the direction from UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan on the campaign starting on October 8, 2024, the campaign has coordinated to send out 13 relief planes with 560 tons of necessary aid to Lebanon. This collaborative action shows the UAE’s love for collective humanitarianism and management of humanitarian crises for the women and children.
