The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has promised the Pakistani government to refrain from further complications in the visa policy for Pakistanis as there were many complaints regarding the delays and rejections of the visas. In a recent visit to the Foreign Office, the UAE Ambassador Hamad Obaid Ibrahim Al Zaabi sat with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar to speak about bilateral relationships and left the meeting with an understanding to resolve the visa issues that were being faced currently.
To respond to the increasing diplomatic tension the ambassador provided tangible measures to increase human resources and to facilitate the visa granting process.
During the bilateral meeting, the issues that dominated the discussion were the concerns that Pakistanis still face in getting visas for other countries. Dar informed Ambassador Al Zaabi of some of the strategies that have been adopted in the processing of visas and the general mechanism of visa issuing. Pakistan has been on the stand that although the visa is a matter of mutual bilateral relations’ privilage, both countries are keen to ensure uninterrupted diplomatic as well as people-to-people relations.
