In January 2026, the rates of solar panels in Pakistan have unexpectedly and suddenly increased, which has affected both residential and commercial clients. This sharp increase has driven the per-watt costs between approximately PKR 22 and PKR 33, raising eyebrows in the renewable energy market. Increased rates of solar panels in Pakistan are largely because global prices of raw materials, particularly silver, copper, and polysilicon, have been rising, as well as there are increased taxes on imports. Traders report that there is no immediate price relief even after inventory levels are high. Consequently, the solar panel rates in Pakistan will continue to be unstable within the next several months.
Pakistan Solar Price Trends of January 2026
Solar panel rates in Pakistan have been seen to go up substantially in various wattage units. There was an average increase of almost PKR 5,000 each panel, on high-capacity panels of 585W to 720W. The well-known 720W panels have become PKR 30,000 to 35,000. The general solar panel prices in Pakistan are between PKR 8,000 and PKR 19,000, depending on the model of standard solar panels, and the prices of premium ones are high.
