Pakistani singer Shehzad Roy on Thursday said he has successfully recovered from the Covid-19 after contracting the virus.

In a tweet accompanying a video message, Roy said that a “few days ago my family and myself contracted the Coronavirus. With Allah’s blessings, we are fine. Here https://youtu.be/xXin7XsVpUo you can see a family of coronavirus in my body and then transforming into its true shapes and colours and then how we can beat them forever.”

In his video highlighting the coronavirus and how it spreads, Roy said the people should follow extreme caution during the Eid celebrations and advised to stay safe.

“Please celebrate this Eid with simplicity,” while calling on the public to ensure “chehray pe mask, har Pakistani ka task.”
He said that “I request you all to please celebrate Eid with simplicity this time. Only go out if really needed. Even if you appear healthy and have no symptoms, the Corona virus could still be present inside you.
“And if you are not careful and do not wear a mask, you can transfer the virus to other people and that could be very dangerous for them.”

“Take care of yourself and other people. Putting on a mask is every Pakistani’s task!”

Roy, a popular singer, is known for his philanthropy and social work. He is behind The Citizens’ Foundation which ensures low-cost education to the underprivileged children of the society.

Roy released his first album Zindagi back in 1995 and within two years released another Darshan album in 1997.

The singer has also received Sitara-i-Imtiaz and Tamgha-i-Imtiaz for his services to the country’s music scene and philanthropy.

He was also appointed by the United NAtions Office of Drugs and Crime as the goodwill ambassador to speak out against justice and need for reduction usage of drugs amongst the youth.
