Punjab has announced strict cleanliness measures across the province ahead of Eid al-Adha as part of the “Suthra Punjab Operation,” while the Punjab animal waste fine 2026 aims to keep cities cleaner and avoid sanitation emergencies during the festive period. The authorities have imposed a heavy fine of PKR 50,000 on those who throw the sacrificial animals’ waste, offal, and remains in public places, including streets, roads, drains and canals.

The new instructions say that people will be fined 50,000 PKR if they dump animal waste in residential areas or public spaces illegally. The crackdown is aimed at discouraging unhygienic disposal habits, which often result in blocked drains, bad smells and environmental hazards, according to the authorities.

Municipal departments have initiated comprehensive operational plans for better management of sacrificial waste in cities and towns. More than 176,000 sanitation workers and some 40,000 operational vehicles have been mobilised to support waste collection and street cleaning activities during the Eid al-Azha.

Thousands of waste collection centres set up in Punjab

The Punjab government has established almost 7,000 temporary dumping points, 3,100 designated dumping sites and around 3,800 primary collection centres across the province to improve waste disposal management.

Authorities are also giving residents biodegradable shopping bags for safe handling and transport of sacrificial remains. These procedures are intended to facilitate disposal procedures while minimising pollution of the environment and inconvenience to the public.

How to stay compliant during Eid al-Adha as a resident

The citizens have been instructed to use only the biodegradable bags provided by the government for the storage of animal waste and remains. Garbage should be thrown in the designated dumping sites or collection centres and not on the streets or drainage channels.

Residents can also dial the Suthra Punjab 1139 helpline during the Eid operations for assistance regarding sanitation or to register complaints about cleanliness.

Final thoughts

Imposing a fine of PKR 50,000 for illegal dumping of animal waste is a reflection of the heightened focus of Punjab on cleanliness, sanitation and public health protection during Eidul Azha. Authorities are working to keep streets cleaner and communities safer across the province with thousands of collection points, more sanitation teams and stricter enforcement.
