PMD Warns of Heavy Rain and Snowfall in the Higher Part of Pakistan

PMD weather forecast

Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) weather forecast predicts more rainfall across Pakistan and snow in high and hilly areas in the next 24 hours. This weather system, according to authorities, has the potential to disrupt normal lives, especially in the mountainous and northern regions. In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, Islamabad, and even in some parts of Punjab and Balochistan, the PMD predicts increased rainfall with wind and thunderstorms. The government has encouraged citizens and visitors to be vigilant because the roads will be slippery, and there will be potential closures and low visibility. More rain will be predicted due to an active weather pattern affecting the area at the end of January, which is predicted by the PMD.

PMD Issues Rain and Snowfall Advisory

It is the PMD that predicts heavier to moderatesnowfall and rainfall at isolated places in Kashmir and upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The possibility of road blockage in areas like Murree, Galliyat, Naran, Kaghan, Swat, Chitral, Hunza, Skardu, and Astore may be a problem because of the snow accumulation. The PMD has also predicted higher rainfall and given a warning of the possible landslides and avalanches in prone areas in Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir. Most parts of Sindh will continue to be cold and dry, but the PMD predicts further rainfall in northeastern Punjab and northern Balochistan. Unnecessary movement is discouraged among the travelers since the PMD predicts that more rain will fall this season. Visit this site for more details.
