Today, the new Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif, started the URAAN Pakistan Program, which will bring the country closer to economic stability. The launch of the reform and project for sustainable development is in line with the 5Es National Economic Transformation plan to achieve its objectives.
In the speech, Sharif underlined the government’s success in avoiding default with the help of the IMF program agreed in 2023.
According to the statistics presented by the Prime Minister, the country has been able to cut the inflation rate to below 5%, increase exports by 11% in the last five months, and remittances by 24%.
The IT sector was particularly impressive with exports rising by 34 percent. He spoke on challenges in the energy sector which the government has been focusing on renewable energy especially solar power in Balochistan, Punjab and Sindh.
