PIA’s Employee Bonus Amid Financial Challenges

Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) is a company that helps people fly from one place or  country to another. Even though they are losing a lot of money, over Rs740 billion, they have decided to give their workers extra money as a reward. This is surprising because PIA is struggling with money problems especially not having enough fuel for its planes.

PIA’s bosses say they want to give this extra money to their workers because the workers have been doing a good job. They are happy with the money they made from April to September this year.

Starting from October 1, 2023, the workers will get some extra money. The amount will be between 5% and 10% of what they were paid on March 31, 2023. But not everyone will get this extra money. If you just started working for PIA or got a better job or more money between April 2022 and September 2023, you won’t get it. Also, if you’re in trouble at work, you won’t get it. If you said you want to quit before October 2023, you also won’t get the extra money.

People are wondering why PIA is giving extra money to its workers when it’s having a tough time with money. PIA is losing about Rs12 billion every month, and it’s earning only Rs22 billion. They owe a lot of money in taxes and to the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA).

So, people are confused about PIA’s decision to give extra money to its workers when the company is facing so many money problems and other issues.
