Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) and Funadiq Travel and Tourism Services, the official marketing representative of the Saudi Tourism Authority in Pakistan has signed an agreement officially to boost air travel and tourism between the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The MoU was signed between the two parties on the occasion of KSA’s 94th National Day on Monday. The partnership is aimed at strengthening and promoting Saudi Arabia as a top tourist destination for Pakistani travellers through joint marketing initiatives, co-branded travel packages, and maintaining sustainable tourism practices.

The statement also added that the collaboration supports broader objectives of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 programme.

Funadiq CEO Mohammed Salman Arain stated that the company is thrilled to join hands with the national flag carrier of Pakistan to promote KSA as a world class destination.

“Together we will ensure that Pakistan tourists enjoy a seamless travel experience while exploring the rich cultural and historical heritage of Saudi Arabia”, Arain said.

The mutual partnership is expected to strengthen Pakistan-Saudi Arabia relations, enhance the potential of tourism, and offer new opportunities for both countries to collaborate on multiple fronts.

Thousands of Pakistanis travel to the Saudi annually to perform Hajj and Umrah pilgrimages. The two nations enjoy strong cultural, defence and economic ties. KSA is home to 2 million Pakistanis and the kingdom is the largest contributor of remittance inflows to the South Asian Islamic Republic.
