The scheme will provide support for more than 100,000 additional electric bikes across the country, an important step in Pakistan’s efforts to promote sustainable transport and reduce dependence on conventional fuel-powered vehicles.

Phase 2 Offers Direct Subsidy For Electric Vehicles

Under the latest phase of the scheme, eligible applicants buying self-financed electric bikes will be given a direct subsidy of PKR 80,000.

Those who opt for electric vehicles on bank lease will get financial assistance of 50,000 PKR. The subsidy is paid directly into the bank account of the applicant after the verification procedures.

The programme aims to boost Pakistan’s growing EV sector and increase access to electric vehicles.

Pakistan: Eligibility Criteria For Adults

The scheme is available for Pakistani nationals between the ages of 18 and 65 years.

They have also created a special quota for women to encourage their participation. Some 25 per cent of the available allocation has been set aside for women, as part of broader efforts to enhance accessibility and foster inclusive participation in sustainable transportation initiatives.

Start Online Registration Through The Pave Portal

The Phase 2 application will be submitted through the official PAVE portal.

The applicants have to register their Computerised National Identity Card and personal information. Once the registration is over, the participants can start the vehicle selection process.

The digital application process is designed to simplify procedures and provide greater transparency across the scheme.

Applicants Must Choose Approved Manufacturers

Upon registration, participants will have to select the “Self Finance” option while purchasing the vehicle themselves.

The next step is to choose an electric two-wheeler/three-wheeler from the list of approved Original Equipment Manufacturers. The vehicles under the scheme are compliant with the required standards as they are being supplied by authorised suppliers. manufacturers.

The approach is aimed at ensuring quality and strengthening Pakistan’s emerging electric vehicle ecosystem.

Vehicle Delivery & Payment Process

The applicant should prepare a Bank Draft or Pay Order in favour of the selected Original Equipment Manufacturer.

The vehicle will be delivered by the manufacturer after payment verification in about 60 days. This process ensures that applicants receive their vehicles before the subsidy payments are released.

A structured mechanism has been proposed for providing transparency and ease of implementation.

Documents Required To Be Uploaded After Delivery

After receiving the electric vehicle, participants are required to log into their PAVE portal account and upload supporting documents.

These typically include the purchase invoice, vehicle registration details, excise receipt and bank account details. Once these documents are submitted, the authorities can start the process of verification that is mandatory for the subsidy to be disbursed.

Good record keeping helps to ensure that benefits are paid to eligible participants and that the scheme runs efficiently.

Verified, Subsidy Of PKR 80,000 Released

Once the 3rd party verification is successfully done, the government transfers the subsidy amount directly to the applicant’s designated bank account.

The self-financed electric bike subsidy amount is PKR 80,000. This direct benefit lowers the cost of the vehicle to the consumer who desires a cleaner mode of transportation and lowers the purchase cost by a significant amount.
