An Afghan Taliban delegation headed by Zabihullah Mujahid and Pakistani diplomats held an important meeting on the sides of Doha 3 conference in an exclusive move to improve bilateral relations after Islamabad announced an operation against Afghanistan terrorists organisations.

The two nations enjoyed close and brotherly ties as the South Asian neighbours which lately have become difficult after cross border infiltration by the TTP which according to Pak Govt operates in afghan soil.

The Afghan Interim govt representatives have visited Doha to attend talks to discuss increasing engagement with Afghanistan and a more coordinated response towards the nation including economic issues and counter narcotics issues. 

The officials were to meet the United Nations representatives and over 20 envoys including the USA special representative to Afghanistan.

During the visit, Pak Ambassador to Qatar Muhemmed Aejaz hosted a dinner for his counterpart Afghan Taliban representatives  at his residence in Doha that were graced by senior diplomats including Pak’s special representative on Afghanistan Asif Durrani and the country’s Deputy Head of Mission in Kabul Ubaid Rehman Nizamani.

Durrani was seen posting photos on X while welcoming and hosting the Taliban Representatives. There were discussions regarding the bilateral and regional issues that took place in the Doha 3 conference.

The Pakistani envoy to Qatar also reached out to X regarding the meeting stating “Very delighted to have hosted the Afghanistan Interim Govt and Pakistani delegations attending the Doha 3 conference”.

Aejaz wen7 on to add, “Both remain neighbours and brothers and have a lot in common, including a strong sense for regional security and peace”.

As per sources, the Afghan representatives also met an Indian delegation in Doha before arriving to chat with their Pakistani counterpart.

The sources said that the latest diplomatic engagement was held in a v5r8y positive environment in which representatives from both the nations thanked each other. AIG thanked Islamad for their stance in the Doha Conference whereas the Pak representatives gave praise for backing them on the national level.

Zabihullah Mujahid wrote on his microblogging website regarding the meeting, “We had a very good meeting with Asif Durrani, Pakistan’s special representative and envoy to Qatar. We thank them for their hospitality and hope for good and constructive relations for both countries.”
