The result capped a strong run for Pakistan’s one-day campaign in England, with the young side responding well after England eked out a two-run win in the third ODI. The last game demonstrated good depth of batting, disciplined bowling and contributions from several members of the squad.
Pakistan U19 Complete 3-1 Series Win In England
Pakistan went into the fourth ODI with a 2-1 lead after England had won the third match by just two runs. The close loss had left the series hanging in the balance, but Pakistan’s response in the final match at Wormsley was with a vengeance.
Pakistan, who won the toss and elected to bat, scored a mammoth 350 for four in their 50 overs. The innings offered a good platform for the bowlers, leaving England with a testing target of 351 for victory.
Usman Khan And Jahangir Bilal Laid A Strong Foundation
Pakistan’s innings started well with a strong opening stand between Usman Khan and Jahangir Bilal. The pair added 148 for the opening wicket, taking control before both batsmen reached 79.
Usman Khan scored 79 from 93 balls with nine fours and one six. Jahangir Bilal also scored 100 from 81 balls, with 13 boundaries in his innings as Pakistan continued to score at a high rate in the early stages.
Ahmed Hussain And Farhan Yousaf Speed Up Pakistan’s Total
Ahmed Hussain continued Pakistan’s good batting with a fluent 63 from 53 balls. His innings included eight fours and a six, another useful contribution as Pakistan headed toward a total of over 300.
Captain Farhan Yousaf then hit a strong finish to the innings, remaining unbeaten on 80 from just 54 balls. Pakistan scored 350 for four in their 50 overs with an aggressive knock of eight fours and three sixes.
England Face A Tough Chase Of 351 Runs
England started their chase positively and were 81 for two when Pakistan’s bowlers took firm control. But the hosts lost key batters and couldn’t build on that early momentum.
Ralphie Albert was England’s top scorer with 46 from just 24 balls. Isaac Mohammed scored 32 from 20 balls. There was a brief resistance in both innings, but no partnership was built to threaten the daunting size of the target.
Ahmed Hussain Stars With The Bat And The Ball
Ahmed Hussain was one of the key performers in the final ODI as he made a vital contribution in both innings. His 63 with the bat had already helped Pakistan build a commanding total before his spell with the ball further weakened England’s chase.
The young all-rounder ended with three wickets for 16 runs from 2.4 overs. His figures were the best bowling return of the match and helped to hasten the collapse of England after the hosts had made a good start.
Pakistan’s Bowlers Continue Their Ruthless Assault
The bowling effort wasn’t just about Ahmed Hussain. Shafiq Niqab and Mohammad Sayyam both took two wickets each, as did Jahangir Bilal, as England’s innings fell apart quickly.

Pakistan’s last win was in an astonishingly tight third ODI at the same ground. England had beaten Pakistan by two runs after Pakistan ended on 300 for nine while chasing a target of 303.
The result meant Pakistan went into the fourth match with the series still in the balance. The final ODI was a very different story, with Pakistan setting a mammoth total before skittling England for just 150.
The tour had also included a four-day match at Arundel, which England Under-19 had won narrowly by 10 runs. The next one-day campaign was thus an opportunity for Pakistan to post a better result against the same opposition.
Farhan Yousaf: Pakistan’s Strong Team Performance
In the last match, captain Farhan Yousaf made an unbeaten 80 in the first innings. His intervention came at a crucial time when Pakistan wanted to convert a good start into a total that would put England under sustained pressure.
