(C)Daily Pakistan Enlgish news, pakistan threatens to boycott all matches with india over champions trophy dispute
Cricketing rivals are now set to clash over the location of the BCCI team in the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy because Pakistan has warned that it will take decisive action if the BCCI does not bring their team to Pakistan. The government of Islamabad has quite firmly come out on this matter and has categorically declared that it will not relinquish its stand on this question in any manner whatsoever.
The PCB has come out in the open and said that it is willing to go to all extents to counter India on every front and defend its stand. The government sources suggest that Pakistan will not back down and aims to persuade the ICC to stage the entire Champions Trophy only in Pakistan, rejecting a half-half model.
A PCB official said that Pakistan had always allowed Indian teams in the past and ensured their security, therefore there is no reason for India not to play in the upcoming tours. The official pointed out that “stadiums are being prepared and security is tight; India’s withdrawal would be a political decision only.”
Pakistan has warned the team India of no future scheduled tournaments would be allowed to be played against Pakistan in case India goes ahead and implemented withdrawal from the Champions Trophy. The government has informed that if India withdraws, there are one or two monetary loss to Pakistan but India also loses its cricketing income if Pakistan boycotts future encounters.
