The Pakistan T20I series win was confirmed with an emphatic 82-run victory over Sri Lanka in the second match at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, giving the hosts an unbeatable 2-0 lead in the three-match series. After Sri Lanka chose to field, Pakistan posted 215-3 in 20 overs.
Pakistan T20I Series Win Sealed in Rawalpindi
Captain Sahibzada Farhan and Fakhar Zaman began with a 55-run opening stand before Zaman fell for 22 off 17 balls. Farhan then added 88 for the second wicket with Maaz Sadaqat, scoring 73 off 44 balls with five sixes and four fours before Dasun Shanaka removed him with Pakistan on 143-1.
Sadaqat Falls Just Short of a Maiden Century
Sadaqat joined Hasan Nawaz in a rapid 72-run partnership that lifted Pakistan beyond 200. He top-scored with 96 off 51 balls, including six sixes and seven fours, before falling on the final ball of the innings, agonisingly short of a maiden T20I century. Hasan remained unbeaten on 19.
The innings showed fearless intent from the new-look batting group. Farhan has made a confident start as captain, and the aggressive approach has given the side a clear identity at home.
Bowlers Complete a Disciplined Display
Chasing 216, Sri Lanka lost Lahiru Udara for five in the first over and slid to 74-6 in 11.5 overs. Mohammad Imran led the attack with figures of 3-11 in four overs, while Salman Mirza claimed two wickets.
Chamindu Wickramasinghe and Maheesh Theekshana added 50 for the seventh wicket, but Sri Lanka finished on 133-7. The clinical bowling backed up the batting and points to a balanced squad, with Pakistan’s strong home calendar this year also visible in Australia Tour of Pakistan 2026.
