Pakistan Set to Hand Over Gaddafi Stadium to ICC Ahead of Champions Trophy 2025

The PCB plans to transfer management of Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore to ICC officials through a formal handover on February 11 to ensure readiness for the future Champions Trophy 2025 season. Pakistan will finalize its handover of Gaddafi Stadium to the ICC after its tri-series against New Zealand and South Africa ends at the starting day of the tournament which is February 19.

A total of PKR 12 billion has been committed by the PCB to project the three cricket stadiums: Gaddafi Stadium, National Stadium in Karachi, and Rawalpindi Stadium. National Stadium in Karachi which will conduct the first match of Pakistan vs New Zealand shows evidence that its completion remains scheduled. Pakistan functions with confidence to organize the eight-team tournament despite India playing matches in Dubai because of security reasons.

CEO Geoff Allardice resigned on Tuesday after the board expressed concerns about unclear Pakistan preparation status as the ICC made its announcement. Recent media-related inquiries about the schedule have not swayed PCB officials who state that stadium enhancements continue while the tournament selling process has started for this high-profile event.
