Pakistan has strongly rejected the remarks made by the Indian External Affairs Minister, Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, on Jammu & Kashmir during an event at the Chatham House in London.
At his weekly Social media briefing in Islamabad on Thursday, Foreign Office Spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan said the remarks misrepresented the ground realities and failed to observe the international law.

“The relevant UN Security Council resolutions stipulate that the final status of Jammu and Kashmir is to be determined through a free and impartial plebiscite under the UN auspices. India’s prevarication cannot change this reality,” Shafqat asserted.

However, Pakistan firmly rejected these remarks, maintaining that India’s actions in Jammu and Kashmir violate international laws and UNSC resolutions.
The two countries saw a heated exchange in January this year as the military strongly reacted to the Indian army chief calling Pakistan the “Center of Terrorism”.
Shafqat Ali Khan said instead of making baseless claims about Azad Jammu and Kashmir, India should vacate the large territories of Jammu & Kashmir, under its occupation for the last 77 years.
