Pakistan has taken Proactive measures to address its winter Gas demand by opening a tender for Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) Cargo. In response the Country has received four offers Signaling a Positive step towards meeting winter energy requirements as reported by sources.

The Caretaker government Recognizing the importance of Overcoming Gas Shortages during the winter season initiated the tender Process for LNG Purchases scheduled for January 2024. The Move Reflects a Commitment to ensuring a Stable and Uninterrupted Gas Supply for Domestic and industrial Consumers.

Sources revealed that the Bids received varied with the minimum Bid standing at .46 per Million British Thermal Units (MMBtu) while the Highest Bid reached .64 per MMBtu. This Competitive Bidding Process aims to Secure favorable terms for LNG Procurement Considering factors such as Pricing and Reliability.

In a Related Development the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) announced an increase in the Prices of imported re-gasified liquefied natural Gas (LNG) for both major Gas Companies Sui Northern Gas Pipeline Limited (SNGPL) and Sui Southern Gas Company Limited (SSGC) for the remainder of October.
