(C)India today, pakistan mens cricket team name squad for 1st england test sports news
Pakistan has named a 15 member test team squad for their first clash against England. Reports are that pacer Khurram Shahzad has missed out from the team due to an injury, giving a chance of comeback to left arm orthodox spinner Noman Ali who has a tally of 47 wickets, and a top score of 97 to his name of his 15 tests.
Batsman Kamran Ghulam who has scored two 100s in the Pakistan Champions One Day Cup and pacer Mohammed Ali have also been dropped due to the selection policy’s emphasis on consistency and continuity and the belief that the 15 member team is strong enough for battling their English rivals.
The first test is scheduled to start on Monday, October 7 at the Multan Cricket Ground. The team is set to assemble in Multan on Monday, Sept 30 and will begin practice sessions from the next day. Shan Masood’s boys would like to make amends after losing the test series 2-0 on their home soil against Bangladesh’s Najmul Hossain Shanto’s team.
