Pakistan Railways to launch new business train on July 19
Pakistan Railways is set to launch a new high-tech business train on July 19. The train has 28 modern coaches with digital systems, free wi-fi, and a dining car equipped to international standards. This new service aims to provide the passenger with a comfortable and better upgraded travel experience. The launch will take place in Lahore, where Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will inaugurate the new service. The launch will give new momentum to the government’s launch of the enhancement of railway services across an Enhanced travel experience with digital components
The new digital train is part of Pakistan Railways’ reform programme. The department wants to make travelling by train faster, smoother, and more pleasant for everyone. The new digital ticket service, better facilities on board, and a renewed emphasis on cleanliness in Railway stations around Pakistan will ensure a superior journey experience from beginning to end.
In a further milestone, it was revealed that Pakistan Railways made over Rs 3.95 billion from its brake and luggage van services in the last three years. Most of this revenue came from the outsourcing of operations to the private sector. Officials confirmed that the process of outsourcing was done through open and transparent bidding and that the service quality and accountability were retained.
