Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar has declared that Pakistan will assertively Present its case at the upcoming COP-28 conference in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) this month. Chairing the 2nd meeting of the Pakistan Climate Change Council in Islamabad, PM Kakar directed the formulation of short-term, medium-term, and long-term frameworks to address the adverse impacts of Climate Change.

Emphasizing the Severity of Climate change as a National Security Concern for developing Nations like Pakistan PM Kakar Highlighted that although Pakistan’s Contribution to Global Climate change is less than one Percent it stands among the most affected Countries. He pointed out that last year one-third of Pakistan’s Population was impacted by floods, a Consequence of Climate Change.

PM Kakar applauded the efforts of the Ministry of Climate Change and Pakistani activists who have been vocal about Climate Change issues. He also acknowledged the Collaboration between Provinces and the Federal Government in Combating the Harmful effects of Climate Change.

The Prime minister asserted that Pakistan would vigorously Present its case at COP-28 and instructed the Ministry of Climate Change to organize a delegation of Climate change experts ensuring the inclusion of Scholars and experts in the Preparation of the Framework.

As the Nation gears up for COP-28, it seeks to Contribute Proactively to Global efforts in addressing the Pressing challenges Posed by Climate Change
