Pakistan Cricket Board Fires Two Selectors After Poor World Cup Performance

The management of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has effected some changes in their cricket team after the World Cup match. They have kicked two people who selected players for the national team. This happened because Pakistan was not good in the recent T20 World Cup which is why social media was flooded with Pakistan’s negative performance.

Who Got Fired?

Wahab Riaz and Abdul Razzaq were fired from their jobs as selectors. Wahab was seen as the main person in charge of selecting players, even though he wasn’t officially the boss. Abdul Razzaq was also choosing players for the women’s team, but he won’t do that anymore either.

Why Did This Happen?

Pakistan’s team did not perform well in the recent T20 World Cup. In the earlier stages of the tournament, they were defeated and many people in the audience were unsatisfied with this. The PCB thus felt that it had to make some changes to effect some change for the better.

The PCB might decide to bring about a shift in the selection process by identifying new players to include in the national team. They might choose one person to make a decision instead of several people making a decision together. They also would likely have fewer selection team members.

Wahab Riaz used to be very important in Pakistani cricket. He was close friends with the PCB chairman and had a big job. But now he has lost his position very quickly. This shows that even people with powerful friends can lose their jobs if the team doesn’t do well.
