pakistan condemns assassination of ismail haniyeh report
Pakistan’s Foreign Office Spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch shared the official response of the country regarding the assassination of the Hamas Political Chief and condemned the act along with offering respectful condolences towards his family and people of Palestine.
In the statement she was quoted saying, “We are deeply shocked by the timing of this reckless act, coinciding with the inauguration of the President of Iran, an event attended by several foreign dignitaries, including the Deputy Prime minister of Pakistan Ishaq Dar.”
Mumtaz Baloch added that Pakistan views this with serious concern and that the Israeli adventurism in the region is turning out dangerous. “Its latest act constitutes a dangerous escalation in an already volatile region and undermines efforts for peace.”
She finished by saying that Pakistan condemns terrorism of all forms and manifestations including extrajudicial and extraterritorial killings.
Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh was assassinated in the early hours of wednesday morning in Iran’s capital city, Tehran, hours after he attended the swearing in ceremony of the country’s new President Masoud Pezeshkian.
