Pakistan achieved number one position in One Day International Ranking after winning fourth ODI against New Zealand, it is for the first time in history after the introduction of ICCs official team ranking system 2005.
Pakistan was on fifth position in ODI ranking before this five match series against New Zealand started, country jumped to first position after winning four consecutive games against New Zealand.

Babar also achieved first position in top of ODI teams’ chart with 113.483 rating points followed by Australia with 113.286 and India with 112.638. They will further cement their place if they win the 5th ODI and complete the series clean sweep.
The ICC official ODI ranking system was introduced first in 2005 and Pakistan’s previous best-ever was 3rd position. The method of ICC ranking was developed by renowned statistician David Kendix.

Pakistan was previously last in August ranking in 1991, and now the country is leading the list with best performances and wins.
