The Federal government announced Eid ul Adha holidays starting from Thursday, June 29 to Saturday, July 1. 29th & 30th June for the offices working five days in a week and 29th June to 1st July for offices working 6 days in a week.
The notification issued by the government stated that, “In continuation of Cabinet Division’s Circular No 10-02/2022-Min-II dated 23rd December 2022 regarding Public and Optional Holidays for the year 2023, it is for general information that the Prime Minister is pleased to approve the public holidays on the occasion of Eid ul Adha”.

The Eid holiday announcement came a day after Central Ruet-i-Hilal Committee chairman Maulana Abdul Khabeer Azad announced the Zil Hajj moon sightation.
Eid ul Azha, Feast of Sacrifice
Eid ul Azha is also known as the Feast of Sacrifice, is one of two festivals celebrated by Muslims to commemorate Prophet Ibrahim’s willingess to sacrifice his son to God which was replaced by sheep.
The meat of animals is shared with family members, poor and deserving families.

Hajj rituals will be performed on June 27 and Eid ul Azha will be celebrated on June 28 in Saudi Arabia. While Pakistan will celebrate eid ul azha on June 29th, 2023.
