On Thursday, PTI allies MQM-P and PML-Q came forth with a “minus-Imran Khan” formula ahead of voting on the no-confidence motion slated for March 28.
The two parties advised PM Khan to name his successor to save the incumbent government.
During an interview, MQM-P Convener Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui said there was no chance for PM Khan to stay in the office any longer.
However, the ex-federal minister said there were other options that PTI could opt for.
Siddiqui said about 24 PTI MNAs were residing in Sindh House. “I personally think it is very difficult for the premier to survive the vote of no-confidence.”
Hours after various dissenting MNAs of the PTI were found at Sindh House, the government got a clear indication that they opted against the party in the forthcoming no-trust move. On Thursday, a trio of key government ministers said Prime Minister Imran Khan would always refrain from “politics of blackmailing and bribery”.

Speaking at a press conference in Islamabad, Fawad Chaudhry said Imran Khan was not doing politics for himself but for the masses. Federal Minister for Planning and Development Asad Umar and Energy Minister Hammad Azhar sat by his side. “He doesn’t blackmail anyone. He doesn’t get blackmailed either.”
“He has never done dirty politics and will never do it. Nobody should have any doubt that he will fight till the end. The only difference is that what we will do will be within the sphere of law and the Constitution.
“PM Khan will not do anything illegal,” Fawad added.
“The entire nation knows that the opposition only uses the name of democracy. Under its garb, they mean to do business.”
Hammad Azhar said the nation saw the system against which PM Khan took a stand. “Our politics is marked with bribery, horse trading, and auctions. We want to make it clear that we won’t disburse ministries to stay in power. Our leader will remain engaged with our allies. However, there will be no dealing of any sort.”
