Major Oil and Gas Reserves Discovered in Sindh’s Khairpur District

In a Significant boost to Pakistan’s Economy, News reported on Monday that Substantial Reserves of oil and Gas have been found in Sindh’s Khairpur District.

According to Reports the Oil & Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) has announced the Discovery of Significant Oil and Gas Deposits at a depth of 3762 Meters in Khairpur district, Sindh.

The Deputy Commissioner of Khairpur Confirmed the Successful exploration of new oil and Gas reserves in the Khawari block of Khairpur district.

OGDCL officially Communicated this discovery to the Pakistan Stock Exchange. They Revealed that the initial findings in Khairpur district, Particularly at the Khawari one well, located at a depth of 3,762 meters, indicated daily Gas Reserves of 14.3 Million cubic feet and 93 Barrels Per day of Crude Oil.

This Discovery is expected to Result in Substantial annual Savings for Pakistan. OGDCL Estimates that after further Analysis, the Gas quality is Expected to be 13.3 MMCFD with daily crude Oil Production Estimated to reach 93 Barrels.

The Gas discovery was made after Drilling to a Depth of 3770 Meters as emphasised by the Company. The Khewari block in Khairpur district is Predominantly owned by OGDCL, with a 95 Percent share while Government Holding Private Limited holds the remaining 5 Percent Shares.
