The government has decided to re-launch laptop scheme for university students. In this scheme, university students will get free laptops through easy procedure. The scheme started with budget of Ten billion rupees.
The Minister of planning and development announced the re-launching of scheme in an event in Islamabad saying that our youngsters are backbone of Pakistan and we need to improve their study level.

Affordable Laptop for students
Ahsan Iqbal further added that National Bank of Pakistan is asked to produce lease laptops so that every university students must get laptop on affordable budget. He said that we have ideal level of young population in Pakistan, with this much population we can create a complete Information Technology team.
Ahsan Iqbal said that through this scheme a lot of students got benefit in our previous tenure but due to changing political situation, the laptop scheme closed. We are starting it again and making sure that it will continue to benefit students for a long time.
Pakistan needs to work more in computer field, we have a lot of IT professionals in market but they are not competitive enough to deal with changing world technology. We need to train them under modern technological patterns.

He said that under this scheme, 100,00 laptops would be provided to students on merit basis. He added that digitally empowering young people is our top priority. The world is growing very fastly and we need to create competitive force able to lead the world with modern technology.
Pakistan is full of talented and skilled people, we just need to provide modern technology to them so that the talented skills should be use in creating healthy environment.
