On Saturday, Karachi encountered a major hurdle with heavy rainfall inundating the city, causing rainwater to pool on numerous highways. This created transportation issues for residents and resulted in Extensive traffic Congestion.

Following the rain, many highways were submerged, forcing vehicles and bikes to stop. Navigating on the road became  challenging and left citizens stuck with their vehicles.

Unfortunately, the officials of the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) and District Municipal Corporation (DMC) were unable to provide timely assistance, leaving the situation unresolved.

The problems commuters faced showed that local authorities need to act fast and efficiently. It makes people’s lives more difficult, it  also shows how important it is for everyone to work together to solve these issues quickly.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), the PAF Faisal Base experienced the highest amount of rainfall, recording 75 millimeters. Other areas that received substantial rainfall included Malir (64mm), Surjani Town (63.8mm), Keamari (55mm), Quaidabad (52mm), old airport area (51mm), Gulshan-i-Hadeed (50mm), PAF Masroor Base (47.2mm), Jinnah Terminal (42mm), Saadi Town (37.6mm), North Karachi (33.6mm), University Road (30mm), Gulshan-e-Maymar (23.8mm), Nazimabad (23.5mm), and Korangi (15mm). Orangi Town and DHA experienced trace amounts of rainfall.

This situation of rain shows how important it is to be ready and have good drainage systems in cities. It helps to solve the problems which are caused by heavy  rain and stops similar issues from happening again in the future.
