Republican Donald Trump has made a spectacular comeback to win the US presidential election. His predicted win in Wisconsin will allow him to receive the 270 electoral votes required to reclaim the White House.
Speaking in West Palm Beach, Florida prior to the release of the most recent results, Donald Trump praised what he described as “the greatest political movement of all time” and promised to bring a “golden age” in the United States.
Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu posted on social media platform X, “Congratulations on history’s greatest comeback! Your historic return to the White House offers a new beginning for America and a powerful recommitment to the great alliance between Israel and America. This is a huge victory! In true friendship.”
Israel Katz who is the defence minister of Israel said,“Together, we’ll strengthen the US-Israel alliance, bring back the hostages, and stand firm to defeat the axis of evil led by Iran.”
The Netanyahu government’s Far-right ministers also celebrated by saying, “Yesssss, God bless Trump,” said National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir. Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich said, “God bless Israel, God bless America.”
Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani said he looked forward to working with Trump again “in promoting security and stability both in the region and globally”.
Egypt President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi wrote a post on X, “I wish him all the success… and I look forward to reaching peace together, upholding regional stability and strengthening the strategic partnership between Egypt and the United States and their friendly peoples.”
Iran government spokeswoman Fatemeh Mohajerani told reporters after a cabinet meeting in Tehran, “The US elections are not really our business. Our policies are steady and don’t change based on individuals. We made the necessary predictions before and there will not be change in people’s livelihoods.”
Hamas official Sami Abu Zuhri said that The Democratic party’s loss is the natural price for its leadership’s “criminal stance” towards Gaza adding that, “we urge Trump to learn from [US President Joe] Biden’s mistakes.”
Palestinian group’s member Basem Naim of the political bureau said that Trump’s administration must stop its “blind support” for Israel in the Gaza War, “because it comes at the expense of the future of our people and the security and stability of the region”.
China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokeswoman Mao Ning said at a news briefing, “Our policy towards the US is consistent. We will continue to view and handle China-US relations in accordance with the principles of mutual respect, peaceful coexistence and win-win cooperation.”
Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy wrote on X, “I appreciate President Trump’s commitment to the ‘peace through strength’ approach in global affairs. This is exactly the principle that can practically bring just peace in Ukraine closer. We look forward to an era of a strong United States of America under President Trump’s decisive leadership. We rely on continued strong bipartisan support for Ukraine in the United States.”
Russia’s Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov told reporters that because the US is a “unfriendly country,” he was not aware of any arrangements by President Vladimir Putin to congratulate Trump. “We will draw conclusions based on concrete steps and concrete words,” Peskov said.
Russia’s former President Dmitry Medvedev posted on the Telegram messaging app,“Trump has one useful quality for us: as a businessman to the core, he mortally dislikes spending money on various hangers-on and stupid hanger-on allies, on bad charity projects and on voracious international organisations.”
United Kingdom’s Prime Minister Keir Starmer said, “Congratulations President-elect Trump on your historic election victory. I look forward to working with you in the years ahead. As the closest of allies, we stand shoulder to shoulder in defence of our shared values of freedom, democracy and enterprise.”
NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte stated, “I just congratulated Donald Trump on his election as President of the United States. His leadership will again be key to keeping our Alliance strong. I look forward to working with him again to advance peace through strength through NATO.”
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said, “The EU and the US are more than just allies. We are bound by a true partnership between our people, uniting 800 million citizens. So let’s work together on a strong transatlantic agenda that keeps delivering for them.”
France President Emmanual Macron wrote on X, “Congratulations, President Donald Trump. Ready to work together just as we knew how to do during four years. With your convictions and with mine. With respect and ambition. For more peace and prosperity.”
Hungary’s Prime Minister Viktor Orban called it “a much-needed victory for the world and the biggest comeback in US political history!”
Turkey President Recep Tayyip Erdogan congratulated his “friend” in a post on X after “a great battle” by saying, “I believe … more efforts will be given for a fairer world in this new era that began with the election by the American people.”
Australia Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said, “The election of the President of the United States is always an important moment for the world, for our region and for Australia. The United States has long played a leadership role in the stability and security of the Indo-Pacific. Australia will strive to strengthen the co-operation between our two nations in the region.”
Germany’s Chancellor Olaf Scholz pledged that Germany would work with Trump for “prosperity and freedom”by writing on X, “Germany and the USA have long been working together successfully to promote prosperity and freedom on both sides of the Atlantic. We will continue to do so for the benefit of our citizens.”
India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulates Trump on a “historic election victory” on X, “as you build on the successes of your previous term, I look forward to renewing our collaboration to further strengthen the India-US Comprehensive Global and Strategic Partnership.”
Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said on X, “Congratulations to President-elect Donald Trump on his historic victory for a second term! I look forward to working closely with the incoming Administration to further strengthen and broaden the Pakistan-U.S. partnership.”
Italy’s Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni said Italy and the US had an “unshakeable alliance” by calling it “a strategic bond, which I am certain we will now strengthen even further”.
