Saudi Arabia introduced the new high-technology e-visas facility to secure visas easily for people securing transit visas towards Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud confirmed the developmemt of technology during a cabinet meeting.

Visa Via Quick Response (QR) Code
With the help of this facility, applicants will now be able to get visa via quick response (QR) code which will easily read all the date letting go of the previous procedure which included a visa sticker on passports.
The Saudi Minister of Foreign affairs launched this initiative as part of digitilisation of the Consular services of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The services include visit visa, work permits and residence.
The process will automate and improve quality of consular service for the Kingdom’s visa seekers. The new digital procedure will activated for India, United Arab Emirates, Jordan, Egypt, Bangladesh, Indonesia and Philippines.
Earlier, The Ministry announced a mechanism for obtaining a personal visit visa which enables visitors to enter the Kingdom to visit friends and relatives who are already Saudi citizens.
Through this visit visa, visitors were allowed to visit Saudia and also get permission of performing Umrah during their visit. The visa also permitted attending cultural events in the country.

Saudi citizens can apply a request for personal visa on the visa platform by logging in through the unified national access platform, and filling out the data for the invitees.
