Pakistan navy warship Hunain made its maiden voyage to Pakistan from Romania and visited the Salalah port along the way and participated in a bilateral exercise with the Royal Oman Navy.
The navies of Pakistan and Oman also conducted a bilateral exercise during the Regional Maritime Security Patrol (RMSP) in the Gulf of Oman region, demonstrating interoperability to undertake joint operations in the region.
The Pak navy regularly conducts bilateral exercises with the navies of friendly countries to enhance maritime cooperation, promote regional stability, and strengthen overall ties. These exercises improves tactical operations, and counter terrorism activities.
The Pakistan Navy showcases its commitment towards its allies through these exercises on issues like maritime security. “Upon arrival at the Salalah Port, the Pakistani Navy Ship was warmly welcomed by officers of the Royal Oman Navy. During stay at the port, various bilateral activities and exchange visits were conducted to share professional knowledge and experience between the two parties. Upon completion of port call, PNS Hunain completed a naval exercise with the Royal Navy of Oman Warship, RNOV SADH to enhance interoperability between the two navies.
Hunain is the 3rd of Pakistan’s Yarmook class corvettes being constructed at the Damen Naval Shipyard in Romania. It will be inducted in the Pakistani Navy on Sept 6 during the induction ceremony going to be held for the warship.
