As per the announcement concerning the Bank Holiday, the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP has now announced that the Bank Holiday would be observed for Zakat deduction purposes on the first working day of Ramadan 1446 A.H., This implies that all banks, Development Finance Institutions (DFIs), and Microfinance Banks (MFBs) would keep closed for public dealings on that day.
Bank employees, however, would report to work and carry out their normal work activities but would not handle client transactions.
When is Ramadan Start?
The Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO) indicates that the Ramadan crescent moon will be sighted on March 1, 2025, while the holy month will commence on March 2, 2025. The new moon becomes sighted on February 28, 2025, at 5:45 PM (Pakistan Standard Time).
