Hafeez clarified that the decision to rest the pacer was made due to workload concerns and was not related to the T20 series. He stressed the management’s determination to prevent injuries and not jeopardize players’ careers due to heavy workloads.

Naseem Shah’s absence
Hafeez acknowledged the fast bowler’s potential but explained that Aamir Jamal has been selected as a replacement due to Naseem’s continued injury.
