Muhammad Asif Wins Snooker World Title, Hasnain Akhtar Makes History
Pakistan’s No.1 Snooker Player Muhammad Asif won the IBSF World Masters Snooker Championship 2025 in Bahrain over India’s Brijesh Damani in the final with a score of 4-3. This is Asif’s 6th world title and 4th individual title and leaves him with no doubt that he is one of Pakistan’s most successful cueists.
In the group stage, Asif lost to the former Indian Champion Damani, but Asif showed no signs of the previous defeat for he took the first two frames and then Damani took the next three frames before Asif took the last two frames to win the title. In the semi-final stage, Asif played Manan Chandra from India and won the tie by a score of 4-2, taking control in all the frames.
Hasnain Akhtar Wins U-17 Snooker Championship
Pakistan’s Hasnain Akhtar defeated Poland’s Riley Powell in the final of the 2025 IBSF World U-17 Championship 4-0. Hasnain Akhtar is the first Pakistani to win this title, having played very strong overall and only losing one frame throughout the tournament.
Combined with Asif’s win this marks a significant double victory for Pakistan Snooker.
