Ranbir Kapoor’s upcoming ‘Animal’ was already talk of the town due to the issue of copying content from South Korean ‘Oldboy’. The makers of neo-noir thriller dropped a pre-teaser over the weekend and teaser is also the copy of South Korean teaser.
The video teaser featured a fight sequence between the lead hero Ranbir Kapoor and a group of axe-wielding people. He swung his axe and killed a number of them while others escaped during the scene.

The viewers started commenting right after the pre-trailer release, saying it’s the exact same scene from the Korean title ‘Oldboy’ (2003) by Park Chan-Wook. Many viewers showed the similarities between both visuals, accusing director of blatant rip-off.
Nothing Original But a Copy
Ranbir Kapoor is full with RAGE but director Sandeep Redd Vanga seems to copy the Oldboy action sequence for the series, a social media user commented.
Another replied that, “Nothing original about the Animal pre teaser copied from Oldboy movie. Unfortunately Sandeep Vanga too copied”.
The film ‘Animal’ is written and directed by South filmmaker Sandeep Reddy Vanga, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna, Bobby Deol, Anil Kapoor and Tripti Dlmri in lead roles.

Animal is scheduled for theatrical release on August 11, 2023 showing the fierce looks of Ranbir Kapoor throughout the series and on first poster.
