No matter what, Preparing special recipes on Eid-ul-Adha is an important aspect of our religion and culture. Nearly everyone makes traditional and delicious Eid recipes during the 3 days of Eid.

It is a special day for all Muslims due to Sunat-e-Ebrahimi Qurbani.  There are so many traditional recipes made during these days including Kaleji (Goat Liver), Sheer khurma, mutton tawa roast, yakhni pulao, and BBQ.

Today, this write-up brings you a mouthwatering Mutton leg roast recipe in a unique way.

Let’s have a look at the ingredients:

-Mutton leg -front leg – 1.5 kg

-Salt 1 & ½ tsp or to taste

-Raw papaya paste 1 tbs

-Ginger garlic paste 1 & ½ tbs

-Mutton masala

-Coriander powder ½ tbs

-Cumin powder 1 tsp

-Red chilli powder ½ tbs

-Chaat masala 1 & ½ tsp

-Lemon juice 1 tbs

-Yogurt thick ¾ Cup

-Tomato slices

-Capsicum slices 1 large

-Onion slices 1 large

-Carrots slices 1 medium

-Lemon slices 2

-Garlic sliced 2 cloves

-Paprika powder 1 tsp

-Salt ½ tsp

-Black pepper crushed 1 tsp

-Lemon juice 1-2 tbs

-Butter 1-2 tbs

-Cooking oil 1 tsp

-Potatoes boiled 5-6


Get the mutton leg with the help fork from both sides and ensure deep cuts. In a bowl, add salt, papaya paste, ginger garlic paste and rub it over the mutton leg. Then, cover and marinate it for 2 hours. In a pot, add 1 pack of salt and place steam rack to preheat on a medium flame for 10-15 minutes. Then, place an extra-thick parchment paper and a marinated leg on steam cook on low flame until tender (1 hour). Take the cooked mutton leg out and reserve sauce for later use. Then, add cooking oil, vegetables, potatoes and grill on a medium flame for a minute. Take a bowl, add tomato, capsicum, carrot, onion, lemon slices, garlic, salt, black pepper crushed, paprika powder, lemon juice & toss well. Now, place leg roast and apply reserved sauce & serve!
