Pakistan Democratic Movement is playing with people’s lives by holding rallies says FM Qureshi
The Pakistan Democratic movement accused the Pakistani government of rigging election results on Wednesday and said that their struggle was not against the army but rather against the government who imposed itself on the population of the country.
The representatives of the PDM party said that the government that imposed itself on people and came without the consent of people, has no right to remain in power. The party members addressed people in Loralai saying that a government that has been formed as per the wishes of people will come to power soon.
The party has recently started a country-wide campaign in the wake of democratic struggle that the leaders of the party alleged people are facing. The leaders furthermore emphasised that people will now accept only what they want and not what is being forced on them.
They call this movement an effort to restore ‘real democracy’ in the country through which supremacy of the constitution and an independent parliament will be formed.
“Our war is not against the army. We have launched a struggle for upholding supremacy of the Constitution and for a parliament which is elected by the people in a free, fair and impartial election,” said PDM president Maulana Fazlur Rehman.
The public meeting was addressed by many senior leaders of the party. Other than PDM president, Mehmood Khan Achakzai, JUI-F secretary general Maulana Ghafoor Haideri, senior vice president of BNP-Mengal Abdul Wali Kakar, National Party Senator Mir Kabir Mohammad Shahi and ANP leader Asghar Khan Achakzai also spoke during the meeting.

Maryam Nawaz and Bilawal Bhutto- Zardari, however could not reach Loralai so Senator Yaqoob Khan Nasar and Ali Madad Jattak represented PML-N and PPP respectively. Though the absence of senior leaders disappointed a few, the focus stayed on the observations made by the democrat party.
The PDM leader said that they will keep fighting against the present government as he accused the Imran Khan government of considering the constitution as merely a piece of paper. He also said that they will be submitting their resignations at the right time and hailed all the lawmakers of every party who submitted their resignation to their respective leaders. He pointed out that it was once the Prime Minister himself who said that it is the PM who is responsible when there is inflation in the country and now he does not care. “Today the people are so fed up with inflation that they are committing suicide while throwing their children into rivers but the prime minister does not care,” he added.
