PPSC PMS Exam Alert: Why 1,216 Candidates Must Rush to Lahore Today—New Center Locations & Schedule?

PPSC PMS exam 2026

The Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) has announced an emergency shift of the PPSC PMS exam 2026 Phase-II centres to Lahore instead of Rawalpindi, affecting 1,216 applicants. It is a move to counter heightened security concerns and in anticipation of a lockdown in the twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad. The move is a sign of proactive governance in Pakistan. And, where exams are not halted, and the safety of the candidates is given priority.

Initially, the Government Gordon Graduate College and the Government Associate College in Rawalpindi were to hold exams. However, now its direction is changed towards Divisional Public School (DPS), Model Town, Lahore. The number of males and females in the affected group is 754 and 462, respectively.

Why the Exam Centres Were Shifted

This decision was taken by the authorities to prevent possible disturbances due to security risks and limited mobility in the twin cities. Instead of postponing the exams, PPSC preserved the flow by moving to a safer and better location. This is an indication that Pakistan is effective in its management and resoluteness in maintaining academic time in the difficult moments.

Updated Schedule and Candidate Instructions

The same is the examination schedule. Papers will be held on April 24-26, 2026, and optional subjects will be held on May 2-11. Exams will take place in two sessions daily: morning (9:00 AM – 12:00 PM) and evening (2:00 PM – 5:00 PM).

Important Instructions for Candidates

Applicants will have to get updated admission letters at the PPSC portal and immediately book travel to Lahore. Attendance is paramount, and it is necessary to be the first to attend and stay updated on events. Even though the switch has been unanticipated, the smooth transition shows that Pakistan is capable of conducting mass testing efficiently and responsibly.
